COVE - Birkdale

What an absolutely fantastic addition to Birkdale! Cove is a modern, independent, high quality and yet casual, brunch, lunch, and coffee option. Based out of an old bank, they've done an excellent job of decoration, and have blended the building's traditional features with modern design in a great way. There's seating downstairs and more upstairs overlooking the main area, as well as more seating outside. The food was excellent and there was a good variety. You could really tell the quality of the ingredients they were using. There's also a selection of amazing pastries from a Liverpool bakery that are just outstanding. Coffee was good, with nice latte art, and nice modern mugs that were appropriately selected for the drinks in question. I think the extraction is a little off (not much flavour) and the temperature too high, but these are minor points and somewhat personal preference. I'd rank Cove as doing the best coffee in the area. Staff were friendly, highchairs were available, and the general vibe was just perfect. Easily my new favourite spot in Birkdale!

Went here for the first time yesterday. What a lovely place , staff so friendly and food was beautiful. Will be back to work my way through the menu .

This coffee shop is a perfect blend of history and warmth. The vaulted ceiling, exposed beams, and old vault room add unique charm to the lively ambiance. The coffee is rich and smooth, and the super friendly staff make you feel right at home. Whether you’re meeting friends or just soaking in the vibe, it’s a must visit.

Beautiful, airy, spacious café/restaurant in the heart of Birkdale Village. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is fantastic. I had avocado on toast yesterday and it’s the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in the UK — absolutely delicious. The coffee is exceptional and this is my new favorite place in Birkdale.

Food was lovely and service was great but if you’re going for the Matcha… don't. Matcha looks lovely on their Instagram but they definitely don’t use a good quality matcha or know how to make it properly which is a shame as they have a lovely list of flavours! Food was lovely so don’t let the matcha put you off going

Just delighted to go to Cove in Birkdale for brunch today. First, let me say Vicky, co-manager, is just lovely. Great to see young people with a clear vision opening a new venue. Second, the menu is terrific. Highly recommend the chili avocado on sourdough toast. Staff are efficient and very welcoming too. A great new place to add to my other favourites in the village.
